The Challenge

Wisdom Hospice Charity, which supports the Wisdom Hospice in end-of-life care through donations, fundraising, community involvement, volunteer work, charity shops, and a lottery, faced challenges with their digital presence. They required a user-friendly website alongside a fresh brand identity that better communicated their compassionate mission. Their previous branding and website design lacked cohesion, making it difficult to connect emotionally with their audience. Wisdom Hospice Charity sought a modernised look that could better reflect their commitment to care and community, aiming to increase donations, event participation, and volunteer engagement.

The Solution

Clockwork Moggy delivered a comprehensive rebranding and website redesign, focusing on creating a unified, engaging, and accessible digital experience. The key elements of our approach included:

  1. Rebranding
    • We designed a new logo that balanced professionalism with warmth, featuring an owl icon as a nod to ‘wisdom’. The owl, with a friendly expression and a heart-shaped face, symbolised care, while its wings were styled using hand-drawn ‘w’s. This logo became the foundation of their updated brand identity, combining thoughtful typography and colours that evoked trust, support, and approachability.
    • To further personalise the brand, we created bespoke patterns inspired by the logo and key charity elements like heart shapes and donation boxes. These patterns provided a cohesive visual identity across print and digital materials.
  2. Website Redesign
    • The new branding elements were fully integrated into a completely redesigned website, built to deliver a seamless user experience. Our design was driven by clarity and accessibility.
    • User-Friendly Navigation: Simplified website structure allowed users—whether seeking to donate, volunteer, or access hospice services—to easily find what they needed.
    • Donation Integration: We developed custom donation forms, facilitating both one-time and recurring donations. These forms also supported lottery donations and legacy giving, making the process straightforward for donors.
    • Event Management System: We built a dynamic section for promoting charity activities like quiz nights and fundraising events, enabling users to sign up, share, and contribute directly.
    • Volunteer and Community Engagement: The new site included a dedicated section for volunteering, making it easy for individuals to register and get involved.
    • E-Commerce Integration: Supporters could purchase items directly from an online shop, with proceeds funding the charity’s work.
    • Custom Post Types: We introduced sections to share patient stories and highlight fundraising campaigns, providing a more personal connection to the charity’s mission.
    • Mobile Responsiveness and Accessibility: The website was optimised for mobile devices, ensuring ease of navigation and compliance with web accessibility standards, making the site accessible to a wider audience.
